Anne Saxon
Founder & Artistic Director
Anne M. Saxon serves as WSCA’s Artistic Director & Manager and has served numerous churches and schools in the NC Triad area, teaching all levels of chorus and general music.
Anne holds a Master of Music Degree in Choral Conducting from UNC Greensboro, and a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Greensboro College, Piano Applied. She has also earned a Level 3 Certification in Doreen Rao's Choral Music Experience, and Level 3 Certification in the Chorister’s Guild Institute. At UNCG she studied with Drs. Bill Carroll, Richard Cox, and Hilary Apfelstadt, and directed the Women’s Glee Club. She has completed further study in conducting with Paul Salamunovich, Anton Armstrong, Lynne Gackle, Henry Leck, Daniel Bara, and Kenney Potter.
Anne is the Awards & Luncheon Chair of the NC Chapter of the American Choral Directors’ Association (NC ACDA). She has also served as NC ACDA’s President and Executive Director and her work as the Newsletter Editor garnered two national awards. An active member of the NC Music Educators' Association, she has been a festival site coordinator and served on the Middle School Choral Board. She has been honored with a Commemorative Brick on the MENC “Walk of Fame” for her 25 years of participation at the NC Summer Institute in Choral Arts. She is a frequent guest conductor and collaborative pianist for Honor and Festival Choirs, and an adjudicator for choral festivals.

Suzanne Maggs, Assistant Director
Suzanne Maggs directs WSCA’s training choir, UPBEAT!, and assists with Lyrica & Encore. Most recently she directed the elementary choirs at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Community Music School. She is a member of Centenary UMC’s Adult Chancel Choir in addition to directing Centenary’s Children’s Choirs.
Suzanne sang with the chorus during the first six years of our organization and has participated in countless choral performances, festivals, and choir tours. She has completed 3 levels of Dalcroze-Eurthythmics instruction and is a certified Kindermusik educator. She currently serves on the board of the NC American Choral Director's Association.

Anna Wade, Director Assistant
Anna is the Chorus Teacher at Philo-Hill Magnet Academy (Middle School) with WSFCS. She recently moved to Winston-Salem from Lincoln, Nebraska, where she grew up and found her passion for music through musical theatre, marching band, and swing choir. She went to college at Wichita State University in Kansas and cherished her time as a Music Education Major.
Anna studied voice under Dr. Pina Mozzani, and enjoyed singing in choral ensembles, performing in operas, and even playing flute in Symphonic Band. She is a former Vice-President of Kansas Collegiate National Association of Music Educators (NAfME). A collegiate highlight was participating in an Opera and Italian language study abroad program in Lucca, Italy.
In addition to WSCA, she is singing at Centenary UMC and working towards a Master's of Music Education online/on zoom through Wichita State. Anna is thrilled to be a part of the fine singing and wonderful community that is WSCA.

Brandon Winbush, Sforzando Boy’s Choir Director
Brandon Winbush is a graduate of Appalachian State University (ASU), where he studied piano with Dr. Rodney Reynerson, and choral conducting with Dr. Stephen M. Hopkins. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Musical Performance Degree with a concentration in Choral Conducting at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG).
Brandon spent six years as choral director and piano teacher at Watauga High School in Boone, where he was awarded “Teacher of the Year” for the 2021-2022 school year. Brandon’s Choirs have been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York, The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, and conferences for the NC Chapters of both the American Choral Directors’ Association and the National Association for Music Education.
He also serves as choral director for Cannon Music Camp at the ASU Hayes School of Music. In 2018, he helped restart the Appalachian Youth Chorale, a community children’s choir, serving as assistant director for three years, and later artistic director for their 2022-23 season. He is active in several professional organizations, serving as High School Repertoire and Resources Chair for the North Carolina Chapter of American Choral Director’s Association, and Performing Choirs Chair for the North Carolina Music Educators’ Association.
A lifelong lover of church music, Brandon grew up in both the Episcopal and Presbyterian musical traditions and has served several congregations in the high country as a pianist, organist, and choir director. He is in his fourth year at First Presbyterian Church in Boone, NC, having served as accompanist, and now serving as director of the Chancel Choir.

Cynthia Saylor, Collaborative Pianist
Cynthia Saylor joined the Chorus Staff as our pianist in the fall of 2004 and accompanies all of our choirs in WSCA. She brings with her a life-long passion and dedication to music and accompanying.
Cynthia is a retired Medical Technologist from Novant Health and continues to serve as a church choir director and piano accompanist in the Triad area. Now in her 17th Anniversary year with us, we truly appreciate her talents!
